Installing Quickly

Add Quickly to your Slack workspace

Installing Quickly

Quickly runs in the cloud. There is nothing to download, and installation means two things: creating a workspace and connecting the surfaces your team works in.

Create the Workspace First

Start at app.askquickly.ai and sign in with Google or Microsoft. Creating a workspace makes you its Owner, which is the role that can manage billing, sub-accounts, and every setting below.

You can use Quickly entirely from the dashboard's Chat door without connecting any messaging app. Slack is optional, and most teams add it once they know what they want Quickly to do.

Adding Quickly to Slack

Connecting Slack installs a workspace-wide bot, so it is restricted to workspace Admins and Owners. It is available on every plan.

  1. Open Settings > Integrations and choose the Channels tab.
  2. Click Connect Slack.
  3. Pick the Slack workspace to install into and review the permission screen.
  4. Click Allow. You return to the Channels tab with Slack listed as connected.

Permissions Quickly Requests

ScopeWhy it is needed
app_mentions:readSee messages that mention Quickly
channels:history, groups:history, im:historyRead thread context in public channels, private channels, and DMs
channels:read, groups:read, im:readList the conversations Quickly has been added to
channels:joinJoin a public channel when invited
chat:write, im:writePost replies, results, and approval prompts
users:readMatch Slack users to workspace members

Quickly reads history only in the conversations it has been invited to. It has no access to channels it is not a member of.

After Installing

  1. Invite Quickly where you want it: type /invite @Quickly in any channel.
  2. Confirm it responds. Mention it with a simple request such as @Quickly what can you do? and it will answer based on the integrations currently connected.
  3. Connect at least one integration under Settings > Integrations > Connectors. Until something is connected, Quickly can talk but cannot act.

Adding Your Team

Invite colleagues from Settings > Team. Each person signs in, then connects their own integrations, because Quickly acts with each individual's access rather than a single shared service account.

Uninstalling or Reconnecting

To reconnect Slack after a token is revoked, return to Settings > Integrations > Channels and connect again. Removing the app from Slack itself revokes the bot token immediately; your workspace, logs, and integrations in Quickly are unaffected.
